RolePages

Mike Yow, September, Year of the Dragon 2012

For anyone wanting an excellent roleplaying experience, with emphasis on story, character interaction, and, well, roleplaying, check out www.rolepages.com!  Joseph and the fine folks over there will be glad to help you set up an account (although it's pretty easy doing it one's self) and help you find a campaign, or start one, that's right for you.  The first session of SK I ran at this year's Dragon*Con featured three or four core folks from RolePages, and they seemed to enjoy it, and moreover, really get RPing and all that typically means (e.g. character development, interactivity, etc.). Check it out now!

Kickstarter

Mike Yow, September 2012, Year o' the Dragon

Like many people these days it seems, I've an account on Kickstarter.com in the hopes to raise some coin and other tribute for the SK RPG.  This would, naturally, go toward printing costs and to hire a talented (but not overly expensive) cover artist.  Trolling the Deviant Art website serves well for scouting new talent, and my friend and fellow play-tester Josh knows a good artist-buddy too.  However, not entirely certain about Kickstarter right now -- may try to shop the game around to publishers first.  Guess we'll see, and any industry professional suggestions would be highly appreciated. ;)

Roll 20
Mike Yow, September 2012, Year of the Dragon

A great new and free bit of software, called Roll20, is increasing in popularity as it brings the online virtual tabletop experience to the Average Joe.  Which is pretty much me, at least when it comes to computer savvy.  The program is intuitive, comprehensive, and will accommodate nearly any RPG system, with background music, sound effects, map graphics, character graphics, tabletop grids, player journals and handouts, chat feature, and more.  Roll20 has been excellent in accommodating SK playtesting online!
